Sims 3 Town Legacy! WIP

Hi I'm Nessie! I make a lot of save files in Sims 3 with the intention of sharing them with you all. I love putting my own spin on a pre-existing worlds and creating new stories and literally building the whole town XD

However, it's been a long time since I actually wanted to play the sims...

I guess I just struggle to get attached to my sims and usually I get bored quickly as the game progresses, I lose track of what is happening in the town and I just don't often have enough motivation or lose sight of my goals. I'm sure that's a me issue as the game is actually entertaining and is packed with things to do, especially if you have all the expansions as I have and even though I've has sims 3 for many years there's still definitely so much I haven't done or discovered in the game.

Now, I've been devising a different way for me to play the game, to overcome the things I have identified which I struggle with and hold me back from playing the game I love so much. Basically I'm switching things up to make sure:

• I enjoy playing as my sims and care about their story.

• I can play at a controlled pace so things won't feel rushed or overwhelming.

• Take photos or screenshots of key moments to celebrate achievements

• I keep the population of the town quite small so I can manage it.

• I make more defined goals and rewards for hitting milestones in the legacy.

I'm also not planning on sharing my save file. If I do I do but I'll be using CC galore and just doing whatever I find fun. I do intend on sharing videos of my gameplay and progression and talking through what this "Town Legacy" is all about.

I'll also be noting everything here in case you'd like to create a Town Legacy save :)

THE START

I'm starting in a whole new save, in an empty world and I intend to play in this save for a long time!

I have chosen to play in "Silverhollow" recommended to me by Burdie on YT. It's a fairly small plain world but that's exactly what I want! It's going to give me the opportunity to customise it and build a nice little town - so it's not overwhelming but gives me the freedom to be super creative :)

1. First you will want to save and give your town a name. I'll be calling mine Misty Pines as I intend to place a lot of pine trees and autumnal trees in the town as I love that vibe but you can call your town whatever you want!

2. Next you will need to create a sim to be the mayor of the town - they can be and look like who ever you want.

3. Now you have created them as I have created mine - Callie Sloan move them into a residential lot and select to play as them.

4. You can now build their house and feel free to cheat funds to make whatever you want for them. Once their house is finished take a photo or screenshot of the mayor outside their house - this will be part of making memories along the way to enjoy!

5. Now add a townhall to the town.

6. Request your mayor sim to get a career in politics.

7. Now that that's done we can move one your sim and the storyline of this legacy :)

THE STORYLINE

One day your sim entered a competition to design a house for a new town which doesn't yet exist. You did this for a bit of fun not realising that your design would actually win and how this would change your life.

The Mayor loved your design and had this built - this is the house that you just built and they now live in!

The mayor then invites your sim (with an optional +1 sim so you could make a sim and their sibling, friend or partner for example) to be one of the first inhabitants of the new town and to help assist them in building the rest of the town (My inspiration for this was Animal Crossing haha). Your sim(s) are super excited to be part of this project!

Now create you sim or sims who you will play with - their appearance and story is up to you!

I have created Nova Hale - an artist, and she is bringing her best friend Theo Storm who is also an artist and they met in art school and he has been crashing on her sofa ever since they left so of course she had to bring him along.

Now move them in and build them a house. You can cheat funds or stick to their starting money.

Once their house is finished take a photo of your sim(s) outside their new house!
