Sims 1 Sunset Valley

Updated: Jan 4

My first experience of playing the Sims was with Sims 1 playing on my windows 95 computer. I was fortunate enough to have all the expansions for it and i played it almost every day after school. It was the first game I ever truly loved.

My current addiction is Sims 3 but I often feel nostalgic for sims 1 so I wanted to combine the two! Instead of recreating Sims 1 like for like in Sims 3 I have decided to give Sunset Valley a massive makeover to recreate some of the lots and the general vibes that Sims 1 and all the expansions had.

I will be keeping all the current households in Sunset Valley the same even though Sims 1 was set in the future, so this will be like Sims 1 set in the past where Mortimer and Bella are still children. I will be still build their "future" house as part of Sunset Valley with the thought in mind that they could move in there together when they are older.

I'm so excited for this project and I'll update this post as often as I can with the progress :)

I want to include elements from all the Sims 1 Expansions which are (in order of release):

The Sims: Livin’ Large (August 27, 2000) - Added sci-fi, fantasy and supernatural elements, such as the Paranormal career track, genies and robots!

The Sims: House Party (March 28, 2001) – the main objective in this expansion pack is to simply throw an epic party!

The Sims: Hot Date (November 14, 2001) - 1.This pack added Downtown where you could meet up with other Sims and go out on dates. Downtown had some fun new venues like restaurants, shops, parks and a beach!

The Sims: Vacation (March 25, 2002) - With this pack your Sims can finally visit their dream destination! They can stay at a luxury beach resort, stay nice and cosy camping in a tent or spend some time with their family in the snow!

The Sims: Unleashed (September 23, 2002)

The Sims: Superstar (May 12, 2003)

The Sims: Makin’ Magic (October 28, 2003)
